Where should I start??

I’m completely new to this but contortion is something I’ve always wanted to do and so now I’m finally gonna do it. I’m not very flexible to begin with, so I need to know where to begin. (I’ll be able to start taking some classes in a few months, but I’d like some guidance to be able to start now if possible) I would really like to get my splits and backbends, but I’m not sure if I should start there. Hi, all!

This may come across as rambling, because it kind of is!

I need to post more pictures. I have my front splits. I should definitely take pictures!

I have a lot of imbalances, both strength and flexibility. My right side is stronger but significantly stiffer. For example, when i'm on the TMAs, i feel a stretch on my right side well before my left. My front split on my right is also much stiffer. I've been doing a lot of work on it with great improvement.
