I've heard a few people talking about how they crack their backs before training, as it eases the spine up, a bit like cracking a knuckle, but I'm yet to discover how to do it myself.

So, what's it all about? Does it make bending easier? How do you do it?

I've tried twisting every which way but can't make mine make a sound. I'm fairly twisty in my midsection, not sure if that's got anything to do with it, or maybe it's just that my spine isn't flexing enough to crack yet.

Halp!

My guess is that the more twisty you are the less it will crack. Am I right? Someone could confirm or deny my theory?

As I have increased my back flexibility my crunchies go up. I have been able to crack much in the spine forward....backbending cracking only the upper back....I saw an interview with a circus performer and they sounded like rice crispys
